Since most of you may not know much about me or what I do, let me take a few minutes to introduce myself.
My name is Lana Grefsrud. I grew up on a small horse farm in west central Minnesota in the small town of Pelican Rapids. Like most people, I started showing 4-H and open shows as a kid, then moved on to show Quarter Horses nationally as a youth.
Upon my graduation from high school in 1997, I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do, so I took a semester off from pursuing college. I did some showing and concentrated on my events at the Congress. It paid off, as I finished top 10 in the 15-18 pleasure aboard Chance For Romance. In the mean time, my sister, Kari Grefsrud, was attending the University of Wisconsin at River Falls. That winter, I decided to join her and attend there as well. I started taking general classes with my focus in Equine Business Management. After a year and half, I realized that career wasn't for me. I moved back home and found a course in the Commercial Art program at Moorhead Technical College.
I have always been intrigued by ad creations and the diversity of the elements in advertising. I put the logics of it together and realized that this career would be a great way to connect my love for design and my passion for horses. I think my extensive background in the equine industry is a huge bonus to my designs.
